Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Florida center fielder Alejandro De Aza was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday, one day after he injured his left ankle in the ninth inning of the Marlins' 4-2 exhibition loss to the New York Yankees.
De Aza collided with left fielder John Raynor on a play that turned into a three-run inside-the-park home run by the Yankees' Chad Moeller.
Expected to start the season as a platoon in center field with Cody Ross, De Aza hit .229 with eight RBI in 45 games last season.
The Marlins set their 25-man roster for the start of the season by recalling infielder Robert Andino from Triple-A Albuquerque and reassigned outfielder Alexis Gomez to minor league camp.
